Superhero Times: a service of Action Online
Frank Miller’s work on The Dark Knight Returns is celebrated as a turning point in the comics industry. Now, DC Direct is releasing four new action figures commemorating that series, including:
The Dark Night Returns: Batman figure stands at 7 3/8 inches tall, features multiple points of articulation and comes with a Batarang with rope. The figure also comes with a sidewalk base.
The Dark Night Returns: Robin portrays Carrie Kelly as the green-visored sidekick. Robin stands 4 7/8 inches tall and comes with a slingshot and rope. She comes with a sidewalk base with a glow-in-the-dark streetlight.
The Dark Night Returns: Joker stands 6 5/8 inches tall, and comes with two pistols, a Joker doll, and a sidewalk base.
The Dark Night Returns: Superman matches Batman at 7 3/8 inches, and comes with alternate hands holding a crushed Bat-Armor helmet and a Kryptonite arrow, as well as a sidewalk base.
Each figure will be packaged in a four-color window box, like the recently released Kingdom Come figures, and are sculpted by the same person behind that series, Tim Bruckner. The figures are set to arrive in stores in late July.
