Can't wait to get my hands on them? Super Cool Superman and Flash...My super FAVOURITE JUSTICE LEAGUE MEMBERS.!!!

Posted by: bapeshop at July 14, 2004 02:44 AM

AWESOME!!!Let's get the rest of the league, ESPECALLY BATMAN! (And let's not let Wonder Woman look butch, ok?)

Oh! And take a cue from Marvel Legends on the articulation!

these are FANTASTIC! DC direct is going to break me! $16 a figure for these masterpieces... and the Batman Hush figures... HELLO BANKRUPTCY!

One flaw though.. we have Sinsetro and NO Green Lantern?

You know, they look GREAT!! I really can't wait. My only issue with DC Direct is that there are SOOOOOOOO many other heros and villians they can make and they keep making the same characters over and over and over... I wouldn't mind it so much if they had gone through at least half of the characters they have but come on... do we really need a Superman sculpt by every artist DC has or has had????

Posted by: Kid@heart at July 14, 2004 10:48 PM

first of all... yes, yes we do. Okay so there have been afew too many supermans and batmans but overall dc direct has always done fans right when it comes to varity. For every line that has a new version of superman they release a run of four legion of superheroes characters that no one gives a crap about except for a select few. And i just want to add that Bizarro is amazing. I guess i'll have to go back to hooking if i'm gonna afford all these new beauties.

They look Great! But of course THEY are NOT taking a nod from Marvel Legends as far as they articulation, (Kingdom Come anyone) Alex Ross = Great- but for someone who is the biggest fan of the ol' SuperPowers line, and ALL its playability, and action features, which made that line great, he doesnt want to sacrifice any artistic rendering for articulation. The more joints the less room for HIS style to show through (or so HE believes). Marvel Legends 30+ joints and STILL Tons of Style, and kick a-- paint schemes that dont look a flat cheap paint yourself.

I want information

Alex Ross and DC Direct must be the biggest Todd McFarlane fans! Great looking sculptures but THATS ALL they do. You dont have to take them out of the package. In fact, you probably shouldn't - you would just be way too disappointed. They dont do anything more out of the package, NO play value. Anyone pay through the nose for or just see the New Takara Microman(/Micronauts)-style Batman? Sure way overpriced because its an import, but articulation to rival Marvel Legends, and tons of gadgets everywhere! Thats what ALL Toy Co. SHOULD aspire to! Not just great looking dust collecting shelf huggers.

According to JULIUS MARX of AFTIMES.COM, these figures will have at least the 9 standard points of articulation. Personally, I love MARVEL LEGENDS figures, but as long as DCD gives me the basics ( neck, shoulders, elbows, hips, and knees ), I'm satisfied. Anything less than that, however, is totally unacceptable.

wauw really nice

Im a huge fan of Ross' artwork. Can't wait to see a DC Direct Ross Batman,Hal Jordan Green Lantern, and Captain Marvel. Hopefully they will keep these figures goin. I mix and match my DC Direct sets to come up with the perfect looking line up. Now that we've had Jim Lee and Alex Ross ongoing, perhaps next we'll see some Michael Turner versions next......

They look great. I will most probably get them but I will wait to see how the articulation works. I am a fan of articulation, not marvel legends but more like hellboys, and Riddicks. I bought the new superman and Hush figures and I am in complete dissapointment. THe shoulders don't really move other way than up and down and some of them are missing waist articulation.

I am happy with the articulation Dc Direct uses(for now but expect them to get to hellboys level)BUT, it is useless, I won't get any.

Basic articulation
Neck, balljointed
Shoulders, balljointed, but not like hush.
Elbows
Wrist or forearm(batman, one arm)
Waist
Legs similar to riddicks
Knees
Ankles as long as they are not like superman's.

where's Ross's Black Manta?

Posted by: oblio at July 20, 2004 04:34 PM

I hope the Wonder Woman figure is based on the best Ross version from "Spirit of Truth" where WW had more of a Lynda Carter physique.
