Well to my surpise DC Direct has NOT moved any major releases this week, First Appereance Series 2 and Justice League Series 2 are shipping Wednesday December 1 and HUSH Series 2 is still planned for next Wednesday December 8th.
In other DC Direct news they will be dropping the Suggested Retail Prices from their packaging starting with items arriving in stores in January 2005, DC Direct statues, props, maquettes and other items no longer will feature suggested retail prices on the packaging.
Prices will continue to be provided for solicitations on all DC Direct items (with the exception of Action Figures, which remain at a net price) in the Previews catalogue and in the Previews Order Form.
“We’re removing the prices from our packaging in response to retailer input,” says Syndee Barwick, Director — Product Management, DC Direct. “This will help extend the shelf life of our products, and allow retailers greater flexibility in pricing.”

This is not a good idea, dropping the SRP. My local comic shop already overcharges for their DC direct action figures, often times by $4-5. Anyhow now this means that the one cheap place I can get figures, i.e. Suncoast Motion Picture Company, will be raising their price as well. It doesnt really make DC Direct figures more attractive than Marvel Legends. Let me check, less articulation, ocassionally lacking accessories, no diorama-style base, oh and costs more, I'll take it ! Many times has DC Direct fallen short of a quality product and I still supported them, for the simple fact of proliferation of characters or decent sculpting. Maybe still, but I will wait for a backstock sale.
