5"? whats with that. Messes up the whole flow.

What flow? It's a different toyline unto itself.

5" SCALE FIGURES? WHY WHEN EVERYTHING ELSE IS PRACTICALLY 6 AND/OR 7" SCALE WOULD YOU MAKE 5" SCALE FIGURES? THAT MAKES ABOUT AS MUCH SENSE AS G.I. JOES STILL BEING MADE IN RIDICULOUS 3.75" SCALE.

Posted by: RYU at December 17, 2004 04:40 AM

GI Joe's been in production almost continually as a 3.75" figure for over twenty years, genius. These Batman figures are their own line, their own thing, why should they HAVE to be the same as other lines? Quit whining.

Yeah, what's with the griping? Who cares if they're a different size? There are a lot of different toy lines out there in different scales. So they chose a smaller size. I can't believe anyone would zero in on the height of the figure as something to complain about. Grow up.

Well being 5" inches could mean that they are planning vehicles and playsets. Smaller figures would mean that the vehicles and/or playsets, if any, would not have to be larger bulky to fit a larger figure. G.I. Joe figures had/has some cool accessories, but if they were 6" - 7" the accessories would be huge. The one thing that would be nice is a larger picture of the figures.

Hey Toybiz managed to make the Spider-Man movie figures in scale with the legends, why not do it for Batman, Mattel? That's all i'm saying. Grow Up? Get over yourself.

Posted by: Nate at December 17, 2004 06:13 PM

Why should they have to be in scale with anything else? These are a separate line based on the movie. What difference does it make? I cannot believe anyone's focusing in on that to be upset about. I'd be more concerned if they're good looking figures. I guess some people can't be happy unless they have something to gripe about.

The figures look great and if you,ve got the paint program, you can enlarge the picture and the Bruce Wayne one looks good also the Batman, but you can't really make out the Scarecrow, but everything else looks great!

Hey Guys,

While I neither want to gripe about limiting figure scales to one scale, I do agree that figures nowadays should be Marvel Legends sized up to NECA and DC Direct size in order to pack in the articulation, paint schemes and detailing on our favorite heroes. As a comic book writer/creator 've been able to meet and greet a few higher-up peeps in the business and I've asked Palisades President Mike Horn (I believe that was his last name) as to why Hasbro never jumped into the larger scale and he says that although he's only got rights for statues that he's asked them for YEARS now and they have some unknown reason for keeping them 3.75". I agree with "Ted" that being a big business older company that Hasbro is cheaping out on molds and trying to keep playsets and vehicles down in size and plastic content.

Either way I hope that we get some nice head scans or decent likeness sculpts at least. I can already see the lame possibly un-plot-related variants of Batman in these postage stamp images. Some companies never learn.

My bad, First time posting. I should have credited "David" with the comment on vehicles. And while typing I altered my train of thought therefore negating my planned "neither, nor" comment structure. Sorry guys! lol

No, no, no! None of you folks seem to understand... The 5" Batman figures are meant to be in-scale with the ever popular Van Helsing figures Jakks released last march.

Man, you people like to fight. I would love to see a series of 7 inch Batman figures. I would love to see a line of 7 inch Justice League figures. But I am more concerned with articulation. I am at a loss to understand why or how anyone who produces action figures could see the Marvel Legends and not want to compete. How could you hold a Manthing or Apacolypse or any other Legend and not dream of a Batman with 40 - 50 points of articulation. A utility belt that might actually have openings for gadgets. Maybe even a cloth type material cape or even an articulated cape. Look at the microman Batman. It's beautiful. I have 4 of them and would buy two or three of any others. A Superman figure that has 40 - 50 points of articulation. Why not?? I would like to see vehicles that are for 7 inch figures by the way. It may be more cost effective in the eyes of the producers of the toys to make the figures smaller if they fit into vehicles but does anyone remember the days of Mego? I had a Batcave, Batmobile, Batcopter, etc. when I was a kid and they were big and bad. I am constantly amazed that these toymakers produce ten versions or more of the bat. I see them rotting in the stores. Why not use that wasted time and material to make one super Bat and maybe make booster packs with extra heads, hands, weapons, gear, etc. Any way I have a lot to pine about on this subject but nothing will be done so...
