Ultimate Captain America from ML8
by Staff Member "Colirio"

Ahhhh.... what a relief to finally have this figure in my possession! It seems like I've been waiting SOOOOO long since I first saw the pics of Ultimate Captain America on this very site! One of the most anticipated figures EVER for me.
Articulation
1 - ball jointed neck
2 - lat/delt hinges
2 - ball jointed shoulders
2 - bicep swivels
4 - elbow hinges
2 - forearm swivels
2 - wrist hinges
8 - finger hinges
1 - torso hinge
1 - waist swivel
2 - ball jointed hips
2 - thigh swivels
4 - knee hinges
2 - calf swivels
2 - ball jointed ankles
2 - toe hinges
Articulation is pretty standard for the newer Marvel Legends figures.
Sculpt
This is where this guy shines above the rest of the Marvel Legends that have been produced so far! The sculpt includes details such as:
laces on his boots
traction "nubs" on his boots
chain mail on his chest and shoulders
stars on his chest and shoulders
"A" on his forehead
pockets on his boots and gloves
ridges and seams on his mask and on his uniform
a seperate piece for his belt and pouches
These things could have been just painted differences, but, sculpted features like these really stand out to make this figure fantastic!
There are two areas in the sculpt where many people have been complaining:
The face - Honestly, while I see what it is they are complaining about with the face sculpt, this figure trully looks like its comic counterpart. This isn't classic Cap, it's Ultimate Cap and he DOES have a different face than the classic version in the comics.
The hunched back - Again, I do see where people have problems with this sculpt in this area. I think that a lot of the problem here is that his traps are SO muscular and large that it really gives the appearance of a hunched back. That combined with his "action-pose" of being a little hunched really makes it seem far worse than what it is upon closer inspection. It also doesn't help that his neck articulation allows him to look downward but not upward.
All in all, these things could have been better in the sculpt and deduct a bit from his score, but, I am able to look past them especially when putting him into action poses.
Paint
He has some splotching on his face and mask. I have to deduct a bit from his score for that as it seems overly messy if you look closely.
Other than that, the paint on mine is flawless. In fact, I LOVE the paint design on this figure! More than a modern rendition of Cap, he seems to be a "war-torn" Captain America. His boots and glove especially look worn. The chain mail is worn looking a bit. The mask has ridges and cracks in it. Overall, he looks like he just came out of a warzone and has been battle hardened. I LOVE it!
Accessories
Shield - The shield is basicly the same one that came with series one Cap except that the straps have been tightened a bit and the clamp which helps hold the shield to his wrist is brown instead of grey. (Helps it blend in with the gloves better.)
His stand - Cap has a hole in the middle of his back and comes with the clear stand like the one Deadpool has. Cap's base is fairly brown and unexciting, but, the addition of the stand definately makes up for it!
His poster book - Instead of a comic, Cap comes with a poster book that has some really neat-o images of Ultimate Captain America. While I MUCH prefer the comic, the poster book is at least a nice touch.
Ultimate Captain America gets an overall score of 9 out of 10 from me. I was hoping badly for a 10, but, there are just too many things that could have been better.
Ultimate Cap is one of the BEST Marvel Legends figures that has been produced so far! I definitely recommend to purchase this figure immediately!

I have to agree.
I am an X-man fan, true and true, but I do love this Captain America. Seems like I always have good ol Cap, in the middle of some battle with the X-men when me and the kids are playing.

So far he is the only figure from series 8 that I've found, but I aint complaining.

I recieved every variant including the doombot and classic cap, not exactly cheap but definatley worth the price.
