Review Week- Color Change Lizard

Review Week Day 1 - Lizard, Color Change from Spider-Man & Friends

Articulation

They've improved the articulation with the Lizard. He’s been given ball-jointed shoulders. That’s pretty rare for these figs. It’s only present on Thing and Lizard.

Hips - cut-joint
Shoulders - ball-joint
Elbows - cut-joint
Forearm - cut-joint
Neck - cut-joint

Sculpt

Really top notch. He’s cute, but in a very reptilian kind of way. He’s got “scales” all over his body, and they’ve given him the crocodile/lizard facial features, without making him scary. He’s got his purple pants, and a ripped lab-coat molded on. It’s really nice looking, and captures the character in this very kid-friendly format. He’s even got a little nub of a tail.

Paint

The paint on Lizard is pretty straight-forward. He’s done in Green, with some lighter patches on his arms and his head. His chest is done in a lighter shade of green, as well. All of the paint applications look nice and sharp, and there’s no slop or problem areas.

Accessories/Action Feature

I decided to run these two together, because with this line, the feature is usually attached to or a part of the accessory. Lizard comes with a plastic “inner tube” (you know, the kind you use at the beach or in the pool), which can be stored on the little plastic “hook” on his back (where most of the line’s accessories are able to be attached). It actually floats, and makes the Lizard a great candidate for bath-time fun. His lighter spots are supposed to change color in hot/cold water. Unfortunately, ever since my old GI Joes rusted, I’ve been averse to putting my toys in water; suffice it to say that I haven’t tried the feature yet.

Overall

For being a kids' line, I love collecting these things. They're fun for me to display, and if some of my younger relations come over to visit, I don't feel bad letting them play with these. It’s always tough to review stuff that is geared toward children, but these are just so darn neat that I love to collect them.

Gotta give it a 7 out of 10.

I alos think thsi line is great. I have the Thing, Lizard, and Doc Ock. The Doc Ock arms were kind of disaapointing but overall okay. I am trying to find an Iceman and waiton news of other figures for 2005.
