Ultimate Fantastic Four Issue 14
Title: N-Zone Part 2

Writer: Warren Ellis
Pencilist: Adam Kubert
Inker: John Dell
Colorist: Dave Stewart
Letterer: Chris Eliopoulos

Characters:
Reed Richards
Sue Storm
Johnny Storm
Ben Grimm
Dr. Storm

Summary:

Last issue reed pitched his idea to general Ross to allow him and the others to enter the N-zone and at the start of this issue we learn that he has convinced Ross. This issue opens with Reed running down the hallways of the Baxter building, showing off his stretch powers.

Sue chases him, asking him if he’s serious about the entering the N-Zone. He simply says he’s definitely serious. Sue stops him from running with an invisible wall.

The two exchange words about General Ross, they both agree he is crazy, and even crazier than they thought for giving the go ahead with this mission.

Reed reveals to sue he plans for them to board a space shuttle and fly it into the N Zone to explore it. Johnny and Ben appear behind them and agree the idea is cool. Reed pleads with sue to join him, he needs a biology expert there by his side, and sue says she had no intention of letting him go without her.

In the next few panels each team member agrees to venture into the N-zone, reed and Ben looking to reverse their powers, but sue and Johnny wishing to remain the same.

However Dr. Storm rushes in screaming at reed and claiming that he wouldn’t let his children leave and go to a parallel universe in a space shuttle. Sue strongly protests, and finally convinces her father to let them go. He reluctantly gives up, shedding a tear.

Soon the reader learns that reed plans to use the floating metallic orb in his mission to the N-zone, and they have also successfully completed the shuttle they’ll be going in. They let Johnny name the new shuttle.

Johnny names the shuttle “Awesome”.

More magnificent shots of the “Awesome” spacecraft, Adam really pushed his penciling skills in this issue. The next several pages are shots of the launch being prepared.

It’s the night before the launch and the four are having a small get together by a fire, all of them are anxious for the next day.

Finally the day of the launch is here and they’re all loaded into the spacecraft and launch themselves in the pink portal that’s appeared before them. Reed shouts an excited yell as they enter the parallel universe known as the N-zone.

Upon entering reed releases his circular invention to keep their place so that they don’t get lost in this place and they fly off, ready to explore.

End Issue.

My Rating: 7 out of 10

My opinion: This one was kind of short, given I knew already Ross would give them the okay, but I wish this one was longer. Not a lot of important speech going on this issue, but the art is definitely kickin’.

Well that’s all from me, hope you all enjoyed my review. Thanks.
