Review - Marvel Mega Bloks Super Tech Heroes

The first series of the new Super Tech Heroes consists of two of the most popular characters from the Marvel Universe, Spider-Man and Wolverine. The best way to describe these is Marvel meets Bionicle. Each comes with 50+ pieces and stands over 8 inches tall.

The Back Story

In the year 2150 Marvel Heroes from the 20th Century have progressed into “Super-Tech” Heroes – robotic evolutions of today’s Marvel characters with the aid of cybernetic technology.

Packaging

Both figures come in a full color hard plastic storage cases. The bottom of the case is molded with places to lock the feet in for storage. You need to take Wolverine’s mask off to get the case to fit on completely. This is terrific idea for kids as it makes it very easy to clean up after playing with them.

Articulation

This is where these really shine. Each figure comes with a total of 10 points of articulation, I know your saying big deal only 10 but each one is ball jointed which gives you almost unlimited movement and makes it very easy to put them in action poses.

Knees- 2
Hips – 2
Elbows – 2
Shoulders- 2
Neck –1
Rubberized torso with swinging battle feature - 1

Sculpt

The mask as well as the chest plates are very nice looking and they blend in well with the robotic theme of the figures.

Paint

Spider-man and Wolverine have nearly flawless paint jobs. Spider-man with red and blue and Wolverine with yellow and blue.

Accessories

Spider-Man - web cannon, flip up mask and “CPU power block”

Wolverine - spring loaded adamantium claw, flip up mask and “CPU power block”

Overall

These will be a hit with kids and collectors alike, for collectors this is an opportunity to pick up a new fresh spin on your favorite characters and for kids you get the best of both worlds comic book characters mixed with robots. This line will continue with series 2 due in stores this summer with The Thing and Human Torch from the Fantastic Four.

The Verdict
Recommended – You can pick these up for $7.99 to $9.99 at all of the big box stores, Toys R Us, Target, etc.
