Closer Look at Ultimate Human Torch

Take a Closer Look at the new Ultimate Human Torch mini bust from Diamond Select Toys. Johnny is the second bust to be released from the Fantastic Four line. Mr. Fantastic was first with The Thing and Sue Storm to follow the Human Torch later this year.

Sculpted by Rocco Tartamella and limited to 3000 total pieces the Human Torch is now available at a comic book store near you.

The first thing I noticed about this piece was the weight, I thought the box was empty when I picked it up, weighing in it only 11 ounces and measuring about 7 inches tall. Two things really stand out on this one, the fact that he is made of transparent materials (you can see right threw him) and the very large number 4 base. I can appreciate the time and detail that went in to this piece, but I cannot get past the base. It just doesn’t look right to me, maybe if it would have been a little bit smaller it would have fit better.

The Mr. Fantastic was a great piece to start of this line, but the Human Torch is lacking behind Reed Richards. I can hardly wait to see The Thing and Sue Storm; early prototype pictures look good and I have a strong feeling that once you have the whole team together they will look great displayed on your shelf.

Don’t get the wrong idea about my opinion on the Human Torch this a very nice piece but it comes up short to the high standard set by Mr. Fantastic.
