Bowen Designs Marvel News

Bowen Designs is pleased to announce that it has renewed its agreement with Marvel Comics to continue its highly sought-after collection of mini-busts and full-sized statues based upon Marvel characters. After two wildly successful product waves, most of which have sold out, hardcore Bowen fans are calling this new line-up “Phase III.

Since sculptor Randy Bowen and company have covered a host of Marvel icons, the logical question is, “Which characters will appear in Phase III”?
“We’re going to release some obscure but cool characters that fans are dying to see, as well as revisit a few of the Marvel mainstays,” Randy Bowen reveals.
“There are a few characters that deserve another shot as mini-busts and full-sized statues. I’ve learned a lot about my craft in the past 10 years, and I’m excited to put that knowledge to use on Marvel’s cornerstone heroes and villains.”

Under current plans, Phase III will begin in January 2006 as Phase II concludes in December 2005. No gaps in production are anticipated.

Bowen also informs collectors that there are no major plans to veer from the formula that has made the first two Marvel waves rousing successes. “We may limit the numbers produced, though, even more than they have been in the past,” Randy notes. “We want to ensure that our pieces are truly ‘limited collectibles.’”

While the Phase III line-up has yet to be finalized, Bowen hints, “It’s pretty safe to say that there will be a Spidey and a Hulk Don’t hold your breath for Paste Pot Pete or Aunt May . . . although, actually, those would be kinda cool. Who knows?”

Bowen Designs’ new agreement with Marvel will continue through December 2007.
