But Dr. Richards’ mission goes awry and he and his crew are

Reed’s best friend and pilot, Ben Grimm, is physically
transformed into a rock-like being with superhuman
strength, and becomes known as The Thing.

Together, the Fantastic 4 use their formidable powers to
thwart the evil plans of their nemesis, the powerful tycoon
Victor von Doom (Dr. Doom). Even as they deal with events
that threaten the citizens of New York City, they must endure
the pressures of fame as the world’s most famous super
heroes, as well as the realities of being a super-powered
family unit.
