Encore Wam joins in the summer of superheroes with a marathon airing the week before the theatrical premiere of Fantastic Four with their own slate of four fantastic superpowered films.
See "Hellboy," "Hulk," "Batman Forever" and "Spawn" this fourth of July
weekend on Encore Wam beginning on Saturday, July 2nd at 6:00 p.m. (ET/PT).
The winner of the "Encore Wam Teen Video Contest: Superheroes" will also be
announced during the comic book hero marathon.
"During a season superpowered by comic book heroes, a superhero movie
marathon is a great time to announce the winner of our teen video contest,"
said Midge Pierce, vice president of Encore Wam programming. "Our mission is
to engage our audience with a program lineup that coincides with what teens
see at theaters and what they do in their daily lives."
Superheros will leap from comic book pages to the screen on Saturday, July
2nd. The schedule is as follows (all times are ET/PT):
* 6:00 p.m. -- "Hellboy" -- Born in the flames of hell, and brought to
our world in a pagan ritual, the fierce red hero, Hellboy (Ron
Perlman), was saved from Nazi soldiers and raised in America to become
the cigar-smoking, kitten-loving secret weapon fighting supernatural
evils.
* 8:05 p.m. -- "Hulk" -- Lonely scientist Bruce Banner (Eric Bana) is
zapped with an experimental ray that turns him into an angry green
giant.
* 10:30 p.m. -- "Batman Forever" -- Batman (Val Kilmer) must battle
Two-Face (Tommy Lee Jones) and the Riddler (Jim Carrey) with the help
of an amorous psychologist (Nicole Kidman) and a young circus acrobat
who becomes his sidekick, Robin (Chris O'Donnell).
* 12:35 a.m. -- "Spawn" -- A clown from hell (John Leguizamo) allows a
badly scarred man (Michael Jai White) to return to Earth on a mission
to conquer the world.
The "Encore Wam Teen Video Contest: Superheroes" ran from November 27,
2004 through May 13, 2005. Students between the ages of 13 and 18 entered the contest by submitting a film or video representing their completely original

technologies. The grand-prize winner will receive a Panasonic mini DV
camcorder (model AG-DVX100A), unidirectional microphone, wide angle lens,
