Sculpt

All of the sculpts in this set are really excellent. Carnage and Spidey both got new heads, but otherwise are basically the same as the earlier releases. One thing to note on Carnage is the increase in tightness in the joints. My original SMC Carnage falls over every couple of hours... and there are some poses he will never hold. The one from the box set is much better.

Vulture is a new sculpt, and a new character for ML and SMC. This figure really captures the classic look from the Spider-Man comics. The detailing on the feathers and the stripes on the costume is incredibly effective. The head-sculpt is really superb. He's got wrinkles and everything. He's been sculpted to look skinny, and he stands just over 6 inches tall.

Rhino - massive. This version stands nearly 7.5 inches tall. I've finally got a Rhino figure who doesn't look silly standing next to the Juggernaut or any of the Hulks. His costume has all of the accents that make this such a cool figure; the wrinkled rhino-skin, the horns and the little eyes on the sides of his cowl. Very cool. He's also got some of the best hands for making fists that ML has ever put together.

Lizard - Finally, a classic Lizard with all the articulation that has become standard for the Legends line. This is a fantastic sculpt. He's imposing at a bit over 6.5 inches tall, and he's got his scaly skin, bendy tail and oversized clawed feet and hands. His labcoat is even tattered and torn. The coat itself is made out of softer, easily moved plastic, so it doesn't hinder articualtion at all.

Paint

The paint on all of these is fantastic. There really aren't any issues with the set that I got. Rhino's horns look fantastic, starting out a dark brown and getting lighter as you look to the end. The Lizard's coat looks like it was dragged through a sewer pipe, and Carnage is a much "cleaner" looking paint process than the original release. The paint has been essentially reversed for Carnage, so now, the dark areas are in the sunken spots. Looks much better to me.

Accessories

Each comes with a round stand/base with a picture of the character on it. They've got 2 foot-pegs for helping to keep these guys on their feet.

Action Feature

None :-)

Overall

I'm really thrilled with this set... even more so than most of the ML I've bought from the last few series. Each figure stands out as being better than most of the individuals from the SMC line. Rhino 9.0, Vulture 9.0, Lizard 8.5, Carnage 7.75, and Spidey 8.5. The set itself gets a better-than-the-sum-of-its-parts 9.5. I think this is the best box set that TB has ever done.
