Sideshow - X3 Beast Maquette

Sideshow Collectibles has released new information and images of their upcoming X-men 3 Beast Marquette. This is a item you have to see, if you like your mutants blue, hairy and naked this one is for you. Hank is planned to be released in the 2nd quarter of 2006 with a price tag of $299.00. He has been sculpted by Ryan Peterson of Spectral Motion.

This maquette is an early study of how the Beast would look in the X Men 3 motion picture. Though covered in blue fur, and animal in appearance, the addition of the glasses and the book gives Beast an amazing feel of intelligence.

Hank McCoy is unlike most mutants, as his mutation is not only genetic, but physically apparent. Due to his animalistic appearance, McCoy has taken on the alias 'Beast,' but this name could not be farther from the truth when it comes to his intellect. Considered one of the most intelligent mutants on the planet, Beast has dedicated his life to helping mutants like himself as a member of the X-Men.

Sideshow Collectibles and Spectral Motion are proud to present the Beast Maquette from X3, a reproduction of the original maquette created during pre-production work on the film. Translating Beast from comic to film was particularly challenging, as Beast's appearance has varied greatly over his Marvel lifespan. The team at Spectral Motion crafted a look that is immediately identifiable as Beast, but also allows Hank McCoy's intelligence to radiate through the blue fur and leonine visage. The Beast Maquette is a strikingly successful blend of Beast and McCoy, complete with sagely glasses and book in hand, sure to be the centerpiece of any X-collection.
