Review - Batman The Animated Series Vol.4

Warner Home Video has released the final 24 episodes of Batman The
Animated Series, The Gotham Knights in a 4 disc DVD box set. It goes without saying that this is a must have for Batman fans. After watching all of these (yes I’m a Bat Geek, I watched them non-stop) I have to say that it is to bad that Bruce Timm and company did not get the opportunity to continue to produce new episodes in this style.

The great thing about these DVD’s is that they give you the option to
watch either the original Batman The Animated Series opening credits or
the New Batman/Superman Adventures opening credits. Plus you only have to watch the credits once, that’s right! Instead of sitting through the opening time after time when watching all of episodes they play straight through. That is a big plus for me, it makes it much more enjoyable to watch them back-to-back.

The set is a little light on features and extras, but what we do get is worth checking out. The Arkham’s Finest Featurette gives us some fun background information about the villains featured in the series, although not as complete as I would like, all of the main villains are touched on, but it would have been nice to hear about more of the secondary villains as well.

The audio commentary on three episodes, "Over the Edge", "Critters"
and "Legends of the Dark Knight” give us some insight on what went on
during the production of those episodes along with the entire series
itself.

The final verdict – You should pick this set up, it is worth the money and
it gives you a chance to watch all of your favorite episodes over and over
again, and in my case it gave me an opportunity to show my kids some of
best animated Batman shows ever produced.
