SDCC 06: The Future of Hasbro's Marvel Figures Announced

Hasbrologo.JPG

After returning from the Hasbro Vault Party, where they announced their future Marvel Legends and Marvel Icons, I can honestly say the future of Marvel figures is safe in the hands of Hasbro.

As previously announced, the first line of Marvel Legends from Hasbro will include:

- Planet Hulk

- Banshee

- X-3 Movie Beast

- Hercules

- Ulimate Iron Man

- Emma Frost

- Build-A-Figure Annihilus

The second series of Marvel Legends from Hasbro will include:

- Astonishing X-Men Cyclops

- Astonishing X-Men Danger (a new character in the Joss Whedon storyline)

- Astonishing X-Men Wolverine

- Magneto with Xorn Mask

- Dark Phoenix Jean Grey

- 1st Appearance Storm

- Battle Armor (Asguardian) Thor

- Yellow Jacket

- Quicksilver

- Build-A-Figure Blob

Other figures announced include:

MARVEL ICONS

- Astonishing X-Men Wolverine

- Thor (seen above)

- X-3 Movie Juggernaut

- X-3 Movie Colossus

- Punisher

- Dr. Doom

According to Hasbro reps, the Icons line will include variant versions of each figures (just like Toybiz's current offerings) though full details on what types of variations could not be disclosed.

No photography of any of the second series of Hasbro's Marvel Legends nor the last four Icons could be taken as none of those figures will see store shelves until early/mid-2007. However, fans can expect to see 6" scale Spiderman Origins and 6" scale Ghost Rider Movie figures as well as the 12" Ultimate Ghost Rider and Cycle from the Ghost Rider film in January/Febuary 2007.

Keep checking back here for more updates on the future of Marvel figures at Hasbro and have faith figure fans - the new Legends and Icons figures look great...
