Heath Ledger is The Joker

Warner Bros. has now confirmed the rumors that have floating around the past few weeks, it is indeed true that Heath Ledger has been signed on as The Joker.

He will star opposite Christan Bale (Bruce Wayne/Batman) in The Dark Knight that will follow up on where Batman Begins ended as Lt. Gordan gives Batman the "calling card"

The Dark Knight will be directed by Christopher Nolan with a script written his brother Jonathan Nolan based on the story by David Goyer and Christopher Nolan. This new movie is set to begin production in 2007 with a targeted release date of 2008.
