Frank Dirscherl the writer/creator of The Wraith Dread Avenger of the Underworld and the Deadly Owl recently visited our forums to give us an update on the progress of his involvement with Shocker Toys on the Indie Spotlight series.
The first figure of "The Wraith" will be included in a new series of Shockins followed up by the 6" Indie Spotlight version later on. Each of the 6" figures will feature one comic book as well.
"The Wraith is my homage and mix of classic comic book storytelling from the 70s & early 80s (eg. Dennis O'Neil, Steve Englehart, Len Wein, Gerry Conway etc.) and pulp novels from the 30s and 40s (eg. the Shadow, the Spider, the Black Bat etc.), so all the elements are there. I've also written two Wraith prose novels (in an intended series), there was a low budget live-action Wraith film, and there will be a Wraith action figure line coming from Shocker Toys in 2006/7 and beyond through their Indie Spotlight series."
