Following up on the news we first broke during our Toy Fair coverage, Warner Home Video has now released new details on the direct to DVD animated feature - "Death of Superman", not only do we get great looking figures from DC Direct but it looks like this DVD will be must buy once it hits stores.
DC Comics and WHV seem to be taking a page out of the Marvel Comics play book when in comes to direct to DVD movies, rated "PG-13" these will be aimed more towards the older fan by being closer to the original comic book.
Hitting stores September 18th this will be the first of three planned releases to be followed up by Darwyn Cooke's The New Frontier and the classic Teen Titans: Judas Contract saga. If proven to be a strong seller for Warner Home Video we could see up to six more titles be announced for the 2008/2009 release schedule.
"Death of Superman" will have more features then past WHV standard releases, fans will be able to enjoy a 75-minute Superman Doomsday feature plus another 70 minutes of extras including interviews with creators of the original comics, fans,Paul Levitz, and a "making of" featurette.
