
Box Office Mojo.com is reporting that the web-head has reclaimed the crown of the best opening in box office history with an estimated $148 million dollars.
Spider-Man 3 broke several records this weekend one of including the widest release to date with over 10,000 screens compared to 8,500 screens for the previous record holder Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest with $135.6 million.
Spider-Man 3 holds the following records, for now, as the Pirates are once again on the horizon with Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End being released on May 25th.
Opening Weekend - $148 Million
Widest Release - Over 10,000 screens at 4,252 locations
Friday - $59,300,000
Saturday - $51,000,000
Sunday - $37,700,000
Fastest to $100 Million - 2 Days
