WizKids is ramping up the excitement at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con with an exclusive variation of this year’s HeroClix 13-inch figure: Fin Fang Foom. Sporting orange skin and more expressive eyes, this version of Fin Fang Foom is taken from some of the other comic references to Jack Kirby’s and Stan Lee’s character.
“For most of his career, Fin Fang Foom was cast as a giant, green behemoth, but he sometimes shows up orange, such as his appearance in Thor #379, when he was mistaken for the Midgaard Serpent,” said HeroClix Brand Manager Mark Tuttle.
On top of the new paint job, the Fin Fang Foom San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) exclusive will have the SDCC logo on the base, and an exclusive sticker on the package. The dials and game play of the piece are identical to the version that premiered at Wizard World Los Angeles, which will be featured at other select WizKids-attended shows.
The SDCC Fin Fang Foom will be limited to 1,250 pieces and will never be made available anywhere else. Per the requirements for SDCC, fans wanting to purchase this Fin Fang Foom will have to participate in a lottery system to win the chance to purchase the figure.
