For anyone who’s counting, this is Hasbro’s second series of Marvel Legends and for long time collectors, the 18th set of Marvel superheroes. Hard to believe that it’s been that many but here it is.

There have been nine previous build-a-figures so far, which makes BLOB, the build-a-figure for this series the tenth. There are eight figures needed to build the X-enemy BLOB.

-She-Hulk

-Thor

-Ultimate Wolverine

-X3 Jean Grey

-Yellow Jacket

-Xorn

-Quicksilver

-X3 Juggernaut

Six regular heroes and two from the films add to the variety making it harder to be picky if you want to build Blob.

Hasbro’s third offering of X3 movie figures is the mightyJuggernaut.

Packaging: Hasbro has certainly made the transition into their hands known to the buying public. Gone are the clamshells and comic books, welcome back to the card and bubble. Fortunately for us, the cardstock used is THICK and with individually designed artwork for each character and bios, it’s a change that I’m most certainly okay with.

It is too bad that the comic books are no longer around, as I enjoyed browsing through those the most as if they were some sort of trip down memory lane. Hasbro at least has put some comic book art as part of the packaging as a good not do its origin. I’m still waiting for DC Superheroes to do something similar with their packaging.

Sculpt: As disappointed as I was with Beast and Jean Grey, I’m actually quite pleased with Juggernaut. They captured a decent likeness of Vinnie Jones.

The figure is a head taller than most legends but still shorter than She-Hulk.

Paint: Juggernaut is basically a lot of skin and a lot of brown. And with that, they’ve done a decent job with the cleanliness. But it leaves a lot to be desired. Toy Biz always had a way of making their movie figures look more realistic than the standard toy. Hasbro’s look very much like hunks of cheap plastic. A good convincing paint job could really help.

Articulation: With a tall stature, one would expect Juggernaut to have a ton of articulation. Nope… just a mere 31 points here. Not even a double jointed neck even. One joint in each elbow, and nothing in the hands and toes.

Here’s a character that does a lot of running and smashing. You would think that an extra toe joint would help.

Accessories: Removable helmet that appears smaller than it should be, but still a nice little accessory.

Juggernaut also comes with Blob’s two hands.

Value: These figures will run you $10-12, about $3-5 more than the Toy Biz versions were sold for. So far I’m really missing Toy Biz.

Overall: Juggernaut is so far my favorite Marvel movie figure released by Hasbro and while the sculpt and articulation is decent, the lackluster paint job leaves him flat and without any depth. But if you’re a fan of the film, you don’t want to pass on this figure.
