Mattel recently launched a new Q & A program where fans can directly ask questions to the guys and gals in charge. The first round is in the books with the second round of questions coming up after San Diego Comic Con, be sure to visit the FORUMS to post your questions.
Now on to the good stuff.........
1) A small sample of "The Dark Knight" merchandise was on display at the NY
Licensing show. What "Dark Knight" products can we expect to see in
Mattel's booth at SDCC?
Mattel - Now we can’t give everything away before the show…let’s just say you won’t be disappointed.
2) According to the press release, Mattel "will develop DC SUPER HEROES
sections in the toy aisle designed to attract a new generation of kids into the DC
Universe." What new lines can fans expect to see made and what type of
products can we expect to see?
Mattel - We look forward to sharing many of our new toy lines with fans at Comic Con. You’ll definitely want to check out our booth to see both past, present and future action figures and toys from Mattel on display. We will also be holding a presentation of our Warner Brothers/ DC Comics toy lines at 11:30 in room 10 on Friday July 27th. Sneak peaks guaranteed!
3) With full access to past, present and future movie projects and
animated shows, what can fans expect to see? Will Mattel be re-visiting past
movies such the original 1970's Superman film series or the popular 1980's Batman? Will Mattel be making figures based on Christopher Reeves and/or Michael Keaton?
Mattel - The Universe is open and holds a lot of possibilities. However, we also have to be thoughtful about how we prioritize the projects – we can't do all of them at once. We're open to anything that makes sense within our strategic plan.
Mattel also commented on Man-Bat "Finally, please note that Man-Bat, contrary to the rumors online, will only be offered as a Con exclusive. He will not be in the main line."
