The packaging for the Marvel Icons Punisher Bust is perfect. The box is sturdy, covered with full photos of the bust, logos, and artwork. It has a large window box through which you can see the whole bust, which is important considering the money you are being asked to pay for it. None of the other minibusts I have reviewed had this aspect in their packaging, and it’s nice to see it finally done. The bust is well protected and held in place with a plastic holding unit, and the minibust’s individual number is also featured on the bottom of the box. MOC and loose collectors alike will be very happy with the packaging presentation.
Once Punisher is out of his box and on your shelf, he is an awesome piece of collectible pop art. The sculpt is a fantastic representation of the iconic Frank Castle, featuring his traditional outfit and trademark look of intensity. One particular part of the sculpt I love is the folds in the shirt. With these folds, the look of the minibust is more authentic and realistic. It’s a great small detail that really makes the piece look excellent. Punisher’s base is a simple, black pedestal which is fitting for the characters and consistent with the other busts in the line.
The paint apps to Punisher are basic but still look good. His face was paid particular attention and looks almost lifelike with its shading and detail.
Punisher includes no accessories, but he does have a numbered Certificate of Authenticity and promo insert from Diamond Select.
This Marvel Icons Punisher minibust retails for $45, which is the standard price for a bust of this kind. Overall, this minibust is a great collectible and must-have for collector’s of Marvel busts. It is a definitive version of the character, and he has a bold, detailed appearance that will be an excellent edition to any bust collection.
