Matthew Vaughn, director of Stardust, has big plans for Marvel's upcoming Thor movie. In fact, his vision for the Asgardian god of thunder is so grand, he's been asked to lower its scope to half his current plan. Multiple sources confirm that while Marvel loved the first draft of the Thor script from Vaughn, they have predicted the film would cost an estimated $300 million. At present, the studio is planning to bring the film in under $150 million, and they have asked Vaughn to re-write the script with budget constraints in mind. Fans should be encouraged to know that Vaughn has great expectations for Thor and is investing great ideas into the project. Budget constraints aside, it will hopefully to be another solid outing from Marvel.
