Diamond Select has released the third figure in their Marvel Zombies wave -- Zombie Hulk -- and he is just as amazing as Colonel America and Spider-Man!

The packaging on Zombie Hulk is very much like the packaging for the previous "Zombie" figures. Everywhere you look is art work from cover artist Suydam; adorning the back, sides and interior. A large window front shows off the putrid figure inside.

The back of the package features an issue of "Zombies" with Hulk on the cover, the figure itself and then also shows the other two figures in the wave.

After yanking the large, undead green giant from its prison of plastic and twist ties, I found myself holding one of the more disgusting figures in the wave. Sure, Spidey is a little more decomposed and Col. America has a face no mother could bring herself to love. But Hulk’s whole body makes me want to go take a shower. I can almost feel the maggots dropping from his dead flesh.

The detail on his rotting body is awesome. His upper body and arms show skin missing; open wounds with atrophied muscle underneath. The discoloration of his skin reveals he’s probably been dead for some time... the green pigmentation is slowly fading to what appears to be an almost mottled brown in some places. Great, now I feel like I’m on CSI!

Moving on to his face, the "Gangrene Goliath" features a very disgusting mouth. I’m guessing he had the gum disease gingivitis, because wow, is that thing decayed! There aren’t any of his lips left really... just muscle and sinew. There are sections of his cheeks just completely gone, and his eyes are pure white. A very disturbing picture of horror.

Moving onto the articulation, he has a bit more than most Marvel Select figures. His head, shoulder, elbows, knees hips and ankles all have two movements to them. His wrists merely rotate, as does his waist. He is posable, but they could have added a little more pose ability to these figures, in my honest opinion. But that’s the only bad thing I have to say about any of these Marvel Zombies.

Hulk also comes with the final piece of the diorama base, detailing the chilling end of the Silver Surfer. Hulk’s base contains the decapitated and still screaming head of the cosmic surfer, with his power shooting out from an open wound. This base connects to the other two to create one giant grisly scene.

The detail on the base is in line with Spidey and Col. Americas. Barren land and rocks, and pieces of the surfer. The detail on the Surfers tiny decapitated head is awesome, if a little simple. Once again, there are no foot pegs for the figure to stand on, so you have to balance the figure on the base and hope he doesn’t fall.

Placing the other two figures on the diorama with Hulk and you get a scene of utter horror. Add one clueless son of Magneto and you have a recipe for lunch!

These figures are well worth picking up! Get them all, especially Hulk. And who knows, maybe Diamond will surprise us and make ven more Zombie figures! I reaaaaaaalllllyyyy want a Zombie Iron Man!
