Mattel writes in with another round of answers to some of the most popular questions regarding DCU: Classics case assortment, bases for figures, multi-packs and more...

SuperHeroTimes.com: Please explain the process of developing a case assortment of DC Universe figures? Do retailers have a say in how many of which figure are included? Are there different case assortments - one for specialty market versus a different one for mass market?

Mattel:Case pack designs are created to meet the needs of different retail customers. Every case of DCUC figures has 6 characters. Because there are 5 characters in a wave, Big box and mainline retail stores (such as TRU, Target and Wal*Mart) will get cases with an extra main hero (like Batman) because these characters are recognized by both collectors and “Mom’s” alike. This is why you tend to see a lot of the main characters at retail. Online and hobby shops will be able to get cases with an extra collector figure (like Etrigan) which appeals to collectors.

SuperHeroTimes.com: Will the new DCU figures have peg holes in their feet for a stand and will they include a stand, base and/or clear plastic "flying stand"?

Mattel:We’re happy to announce that ALL DCUC figures will have holes in there feet. Stands will not be included at this time, but that doesn’t rule out doing stands in the future. Currently the pack in bonus is the build-a-figure piece!

SuperHeroTimes.com: We mentioned it before, but are multi-packs in the future of DCU? 2-packs featuring crime-fighting partners like Green Arrow and Speedy, Flash and Kid Flash, Wonder Woman and Wonder Girl, Aquaman and Aqualad, and Batman and Robin could help expand the line quickly and attract new fans.

Mattel: We are currently looking at a few multi-pack options and hope to have something to announce in the near future.

SuperHeroTimes.com: Are there any plans to make DC non-superhero characters like Sgt. Rock, Constantine, Death, Sandman, Unknown Soldier or Jonah Hex?

Mattel: All of the DC Universe characters are in the cards except for certain Vertigo and adult characters. We have only announced up to Wave 3 at this time, so there is plenty of time to get all of the fan requests from the most famous to the most obscure characters in the DC Universe.

SuperHeroTimes.com: A few months ago you mentioned you may be releasing 12" versions of some of the new DCU figures. Is there any update on this larger line?

Mattel: We do have a few other scales in mind for the DUC but (we) are not ready to make an announcement quite yet. Stay tuned!
