Hasbro and Toys R Us have joined forces yet again and have released another TRU Exclusive Marvel Legend. And this one is actually a NEW character -- we finally get a Black Queen figure from the Dark Phoenix saga!

This figure is actually Madelyne Pryor, a clone created by the villain Mr. Sinister for one sole purpose, to procreate with Scott Summers. The figure represents her stint in the Hellfire Club under the powers of Mastermind.

The packaging on this figure is along the same lines as the other Marvel Legends figures from Hasbro, except this one has a large Toys R Us exclusive sticker on the front of the bubble. The graphics on here are some nice images from the comics of Black Queen.

Once pulled from the package, Black Queen is probably one of the better figures Hasbro has done recently. The sculpt on the figure is nice, the expression on her face is very nice. Her hairdo is very 1980’s, but matches that period of the comics perfectly. She is dressed in a very seductive looking, two piece leather outfit. The body is actually just a repainted White Queen body, which is a little sad as the White Queen female body from that first wave of Legends isn’t that great.

She comes with a large black and red cape that can be removed. It hangs loosely around her shoulder, giving her a nice look over all. The only other accessory she comes with is a coiled leather whip that she can hold in either hand. It basically just has a handle that slides over her hand.

The paint on this figure is really great, except that the skin on this figure and quite a few of the human characters in the Legends line is a little too shiny.

Hasbro still has a long way to go to even meet most of the collecting communities’ standards for these figures that Toy Biz/Marvel Toys worked so hard to create and maintain. They are getting better, and this figure is well worth picking up at you local TRU and adding her to your Legends collection.
