After a long wait, the patient fans of Shocker Toys will finally receive their Indie Spotlight figures this spring, with the release of the first wave of figures. The new series will feature highly-articulated, 6"-7" figures based on characters from independent comic books; and for fans of the figures who do not know of the characters, a full pack-in comic is included. Series 1 features Jim Valentino’s ShadowHawk (and variant), Rob Schrab’s Scud the disposable assassin (and variant), Terry Moore's Katchoo of Strangers in Paradise, David Mack’s Kabuki and MTV’s The Maxx--who will be the series 8" non-traditional "build-a-figure" (instead of a piece coming with each figure, the larger character is sold in pieces on his own blister card). Each figure is set for a $13.95 SRP, with the deluxe Maxx BAF only an additional dollar at $14.95.

Shocker also has plans to release a second series this year consisting of Dick Tracy, Zombie King (from Deadworld), Jack Staff, Ignacia ( from Wildguard) and The Tick "Build a Figure". The creators of each character featured in the Indie Spotlight line are involved with the development of their respective figures, and the line strives "to create the perfect version in each figure and connect fans to the creators on a more personal level". They are due out June/July of 2008.

Other planned characters for the line up are Dr. Solar, The Lone Ranger, The Phantom, Retro Rocket, Bog the Swamp Demon, Nexus, The Moth, Earthboy Jacobus, Atomika, Robotika, Fist of Justice, Liberty Girl and much much more. All characters in the standard Indie Spotlight line are also planned for release in the cute 2.5" mini block Shockinis.
