More guest have been lined up to appear at this year's New York Comic Con, including a Hollywood bombshell and two of comics' most popular and talent writers. Frank Miller, comic writer and director of The Spirit will come to promote his new film, as will Eva Mendes, one of the film's stars. They will be appearing together on a Lionsgate panel on Saturday afternoon, which will include a first look at the Spirit film, Miller's directorial debut set for January 2009 release. Both Miller and Mendes will be available for signings of the teaser poster.
Also attending will be Neil Gaiman, writer of many comics, whose appearance will be a special, ticketed event to benefit the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund. The Friday evening event will be a live reading, with two types of tickets available. The first is a $20 basic seat, and the second is $500 VIP ticket that includes closer seating and a reception following the event that will include a gift bag and opportunity to meet Gaiman himself.
