This first wave of Funko’s Marvel-Comics-inspired Wacky Wobbler bobbleheads are coming this spring, featuring characters from the pages of the Avengers and Spider-man. The collectibles I’ll be looking at from the first wave include Vision, Thor, Captain America, and Green Goblin.

The packaging for these products is phenomenal. If you’re a MOC collector, this is the kind of packaging you live for. The colorful artwork includes iconic drawings of the enclosed character, and the font looks fantastic as well. On top of that, the boxes feature a 3-sided window box, keeping the Bobblehead in full view! Funko also differentiated between their Avengers and Spider-man figures via different colored boxes, separating each steam/set in the series from one another. I really can’t stress how much I dig this packaging. For Marvel product based on classic character designs, it’s perfect. Just perfect.

The sculpts are great, too. The characters are essentially in static poses, but they still look fine for desktop/shelf display. The facial expression on Thor is specifically awesome, because it’s as if the toy is saying, “Yes, I possess a large and bobbling head, and if that is a problem, I shall smite thee with yon Uru Hammer,”. Vision’s crossed arms perfectly capture the ever serious and thoughtful android, and I totally dig the stern face sculpt on him as well. He is definitely solving problems, like how to defeat Ultron’s latest schemes. Cap’s sculpt is also cool, his shield ready at his side and his watchful gaze determined to take on evil.

But of all the sculpts, the one which I must call-out specifically is the absolutely insane and deranged Green Goblin. This sculpt rules, and I seriously think this may be one of my personal favorite Green Goblin collectibles to date. The body sculpt is great—just check out his hand holding the pumpkin bomb. It’s as though he is presenting the explosive to someone as gift…which will kill them.

As for the face sculpt, it accompanies this body perfectly, with a gaping mouth that appears to be laughing cheerily at the mayhem Goblin intends to unleash. Once one actually taps the bobbling head on the wobbler, it seems the Goblin is laughing with insane delight, making him even more fun. The overall design on this version of the Green Goblin is great, and he is definitely my favorite of the set.

The paint on these wobblers is as vibrant and eye-catching as the drawings on which the products are based. All four collectibles just have a very innocent look that is really fun and reminiscent of the classic issues brought to the masses by Marvel.

Each of the Avengers’ bases is a nice bright blue and has the same “Marvel” logo and shape as all the other Marvel wobblers in Funko’s line. Green Goblin’s base matches the others in shape, size, and design but is cast in black instead of blue.

At a price point of $14.99 each, these are affordable desktop/shelf display items, both for oneself or for that Marvel fan who won’t treat themselves but might love an iconic Marvel character at their side.

Overall, these wacky bobblers are fun, nostalgic piece of Marvel history; and if they are taste of things to come from Funko, collectors will have another extensive line to support. From the fantastic packaging to the appropriate pricing, these are some very worthwhile products, particularly for Marvel fans who don’t treat themselves to collectibles often. Fans of older comics in particular will fall in love with these incarations of classic icons, but they could slide into any collection well, either loose or in their stellar packaging!
