With the release of The Incredible Hulk this summer, fans of the Green Goliath will be able to get their hands on tons of HULK product; from high-end collectible statues to a wide array of action figures. One unique gamma ray-infused item hails from the Wacky Wobblers line from Funko. Fans looking for a little humor in their Hulk collection will find just what they’re looking for in the Funko Movie HULK Wacky Wobbler.
The packaging for the Hulk Wobbler is ordinary. Promo design artwork of the Hulk character from the film is on each side, with a brief description of the character on the back and an “Incredible Hulk” font found throughout. In all honesty, this pacakaging is fine for display, but is not a great piece of artwork in and of itself.
Once you unleash Hulk from his cardboard prison, he’s a great deal of fun. The sculpt features the green, mean smashing machine with a clenched teeth and fists, not necessarily “hulking out,” but seemingly on the verge of doing so. His “wacky wobbling” feature, matched with his grimace and balled hands, seems to suggest that with each bobble of Hulk’s enlarged head, he is shaking with a growling rage... prepared to strike at any moment.
Hulk also appears like a gritty freak thanks to the dark green, nearly gray paint apps. All the detailing is strong and crisp, with no visible factory defects of any kind.
Hulk’s base is black and has the same “Marvel” logo and shape as all the other Funko Marvel Wobblers. While this base is different than the Avengers in the Funko line, Hulk can still be displayed with them. He is out of scale to the other Wobblers, but in order to be, he would have had to be twice as large and several dollars more in cost, so the inconsistency in scale is acceptable.
At a price point of $14.99, this Hulk Wacky Wobbler is a good deal for a gift or desktop ornament to cheer you up as you wait for the movie to come this June. Once the movie has come and gone, you can keep him on your shelve as a reminder of the hero’s adventures on the silver screen. Overall, I dug this little number from Funko and look forward to more Wacky Wobblers in the future!
