Having DC Universe #0 in my hands and finally turning through the 50 cent priced lead in to DC’s summer stories has really opened my eyes to what they have planned. DC Universe isn’t a new tale; it’s more like several new tales.

This book is a stepping stone for summer’s big stories from DC, and they include a six page prelude to Final Crisis: Legion of Three Worlds by Geoff Johns and George Perez. A three page prelude to Batman R.I.P. by Grant Morrison and Tony Daniel. A three page prelude to Wonder Woman Whom the Gods Forsake by Gail Simone and Aaron Lopresti. A three page prelude to Green Lantern: Blackest Night by Geoff Johns and Ivan Reis. A three page prelude to Final Crisis: Revelations by Greg Rucka and Philip Tan. And the final prelude, which is actually the most ground breaking and heart stopping. The prelude to Final Crisis by Grant Morrison and J.G. Jones is without a doubt what will have everyone talking about this week.

The New York Daily News broke the story earlier today about the return of a long dead hero to the DC Universe, and even though we don’t get to actually SEE this hero at the end of the book, we are left with an amazing visual of his return. I won’t say who it is here, but if you want to spoil it, check out our previous news article here.

The writers and artists that have put together these preludes are really the cream of the crop when it comes to DC’s amazing talent pool. This summer is truly going to be a memorable one. I think after reading this I am most excited about Batman R.I.P. and Final Crisis, but overall the stories in this title will have repercussions across the DC Universe and will prove once again that DC is TRULY the top dog in the comic world!

You can pick up DC Universe #0 at your local comic retailer!

And stay tuned here to Superherotimes.com as we will be covering this summers hot books!
