Koto Unveils First DARK KNIGHT ARTFX Statue

This summer will see the theatrical release of the newest cinematic chapter in the Batman saga: THE DARK KNIGHT. Kotobukiya announces a series of high-end collectibles based on the film with the first release being BATMAN “DARK KNIGHT BAT-SUIT” ARTFX STATUE.

This deluxe, collector’s edition ARTFX Statue of The Dark Knight detective stands almost 14 inches tall. Batman is posed throwing his flowing cape to one side, posed dramatically on the destroyed Bat-Signal – emblematic of his place in the eyes of the GCPD at the end of the film. Fine details of the new mesh-and-armor Bat-Suit have been faithfully recreated by sculptor BusujimaX, and the figure even features an excellent likeness of actor Christian Bale. ARTFX Statues are 1/6th scale prepainted snap-fit model kits that can be easily assembled in minutes without any glue or modeling skill.

Tomomi Iwasaki of Kotobukiya’s Planning Division revealed, “There will be a hidden theme connecting our Dark Knight Bat-Suit ARTFX Statue and our future release of a totally different Original Bat-Suit ARTFX Statue. Please see the movie, and then display the two pieces side-by-side to reveal the concept!”

Koto’s full line of THE DARK KNIGHT collectibles will be available outside of Japan exclusively from DC Direct, and future announcements and characters will be forthcoming.
