Director Matthew Vaughn and fate don't really seem to mix when it comes to directing a Marvel Film. The Stardust director was at one time attached to direct X-Men: The Last Stand a few years back and dropped out. He was replaced by Brett Ratner.

Vaughn was then attached to direct the big screen debut of Marvel Comic's THOR, but that no longer seems to be the case. Vaughn's holding deal as a Director on the film, according to the Hollywood Reporter expired back in December.

So now, with a script polish about to be turned in by I Am Legend screenwriter Mark Protosevich the film seeks yet another man or woman to helm the project.
