* Available soon from Dark Horse is the Domo 8 Inch Flocked Vinyl Figure in Classic Brown. Look at what you’ve been missing! Domo is one of the hottest Japanese imports to hit Western pop culture. Domo is the mascot of Japan’s NHK television station, appearing in several 30-second stop-motion sketches shown as station identification during shows. In 2006, Nickelodeon announced that it was developing 26 2-minute shorts of Domo for broadcast in the United States, and the rest is history. * Available soon from Kotobukiya is the Indiana Jones ARTFX Statue. From the master artisans of Kotobukiya comes this classic rendition of Indiana Jones from “Raiders of the Lost Ark.” Measuring nearly 11" tall, Koto has brilliantly captured Harrison Ford’s likeness, with removable fedora, bendable bullwhip, a replacement arm that holds his Smith and Wesson pistol, and, of course, the Fertility Idol from the film's Chachapoyan Temple. The figure also features a rocky floor reminiscent of the one from the Peruvian temple housing the Idol. Requires some simple assembly.
* Available now from Gentle Giant Studios is the Animated Han Solo Maquette. Since we’re in a Harrison Ford mood, we thought we’d feature this underrated little gem from Gentle Giant. This fun, action-packed maquette feature Han as he’s about to blast away at some storm troopers. He’s a great fit with the other Star Wars animated pieces. And with a new animated Clone Wars film coming out this summer, any animated Star Wars maquettes are sure to be in short supply.
* And finally, available soon is Kotobukiya’s Art of Shunya Yamashita Noel Fine Art Bust. We could go on and on about this piece and provide an elaborate back-story associated with this character, but the plain and simple truth is that she’s a ridiculously sexy sculpt who’s brandishing some cool edged weapons. The bust stands approximately 7-inches tall, including the highly polished podium base. Noel is armed with knuckled blades to deal with her enemies. A departure from some of the other designs in the line, Noel's personality is reflected in the glossy, dark base, ornamented with small human skulls. And now some details: this bust is based on designs from famed Japanese illustrator Shunya Yamashita. Yamashita is generally known for his character designs on legendary video games such as Final Fantasy X, among others. However, he is now collaborating with Kotobukiya and creating original and elegant characters for that company. Honestly, you cannot go wrong with such a sexy but elegant sculpt.
