WWC 2008: Go Hero Debuts Buck Rogers

Buck Rogers Box Medallion detail.jpg

Steve Forde and his amazing independent toy company Go Hero has become a force in the world of toy design since his debut in 2004 with Mechabot: A Hero Reforged. Now, he makes another revolutionary leap with the addition of an amazing license and we got to take a first look at this property at Wizard World Chicago this past weekend.

Buck Rogers was the first sci-fi hero to blast into the imaginations of children in 1928. Now, in the year 2008 over 70 years since his debut this amazing character created by John F. Dille is finally getting the royal treatment it deserves.

I talked in depth with Steve about this amazing property and his love and affection for what he is doing with this line was very evident as we spoke.

The products we took a look at were on display at the Go Hero booth and it was a lot of fun to hear people stop and admire the detail and effort placed on the figures and replica blaster at the table.

From the Go Hero site

Go Hero is bringing back a full scale, sparking-popping replica of the 1930s Atomic Disintegrator, originally released by Daisy.

And what an amazing replica it is. Recreated with every last detail intact, the Atomic Disintegrator is a sight to behold! Shipping in a laser etched wooden box, it is an amazing collectible and will be worth owning by all fans of sci-fi, new or old!

Steve also had on display a first look at the classic character Sinbad who was just as well done as the Buck Rogers figures, as well as a teaser for the upcoming Cyclops from Wrath of the Titans and it appears that Cyclops is going to be just HUGE!
