WIZARD WORLD CHICAGO 2008: Premier Collectible Auctions

This past weekend at the Wizard World Chicago Comic Con we had a chance to check out some of the items that will be auctioned off in San Diego on July 25th and 26th as part of the Premier Collectible Auctions.

It’s being called the ‘The Greatest Toy Auction On Earth’ and that isn’t a lie. Premier themselves were not on hand, but some of the items for the auction were on display thanks to Brian’s Toys.

Premier’s auction is something that may never happen again in our lifetimes, especially with the sheer amount of vintage items and their conditions! There is so much that will be offered in the auction in a few weeks, and some of the items are one of a kind pieces that are just unbelievable!

The items Brian’s Toys had on display were a dizzying assortment of items from our childhoods. Among the items were some phenomenally graded items from the Masters of The Universe line, The Real Ghostbusters, Transformers and of course, Star Wars.

Seeing all of these old items really brought back a ton of great memories from my personal childhood. Seeing these items in pristine condition really takes one back to the days when you would walk into a toy store and see aisles and aisles of classic Transformers, Star Wars and G.I. Joes and be in awe!

Also on display was an amazing collection of original Nintendo Entertainment System games all still factory sealed. Some of which will be offered in the auction, but others were on sale at the convention and prices ranged from $300 to $1,000 dollars!

The Grail of the collection on display, for those of us who are hardcore toy buffs was one of two prototypes offered in the Auction of Kenner’s fabled Rocket Firing Boba Fett! The figure was an unpainted prototype that simply made us drool. The starting bid in a few weeks for this item is going to be $10,000 with an AFA grade of 85 and the actual estimate of the item in the 15 to 18 thousand range!

You can still receive a Auction Catalogue or download a PDF version of the complete catalogue by heading over to Premiere Collectible Auctions!

If you are in San Diego for Comic Con International on July 25th and 26th then be sure to try and make some time to check out the auction and become a part of toy history as the Greatest Toy Auction On Earth takes center stage for toy collectors everywhere!
