Tonner's DC Stars dolls and other fine character figures are available through www.TonnerDirect.com.
This week for Tonner Tuesday we take a look at one of the most endearing characters from the Superman family; the Man of Steel's cousin Kara Zor-El, or as she is better known to her adopted home planet Earth, Supergirl!

Pulling the super-powered beauty from her protective enclosure, (aka her box) you hold in your hands an amazing collectible to add to any collection! Now with that out of the way, let us take a look at this Kryptonian Cousin in greater detail!
Pulling her and the one bag of accessories from the box is fairly simple. As with all of the Tonner DC Stars, she is tied in with ribbon and her face and hands covered in protective wrapping. She comes with a pair of boots and of course the requisite two piece doll stand.
From top to bottom this is a fine example of the artistry and dedication the men and woman employed at Tonner Dolls show with every one of their creations! This is quite possibly one of my personal favorites out of the DC Stars line as it is a striking creation.

Her outfit is a two piece outfit consisting of a removable skirt and a body suit with the cape attached to the neck of the body suit. I am personally always amazed at the clothing details on Tonner’s creations. And while Supergirl is among the few simplistic costume designs for this line it is still one of the most faithful and great creations from the company.

She has the famous ‘S’ symbol featured on both her chest and on the cape itself. I had two small problems here and this was just me. My Supergirl had a small tear on her chest symbol and her capes symbol was creased. I fixed the crease, so there was no problem there. The tear on her chest symbol was something I couldn’t fix. But it is a very small tear, and it does happen from time to time. But this small problem aside it is still one of the finest examples of their DC costumes to date.

Moving to her legs, she is wearing clear almost fishnet-like leggings that add a nice look to her and moves very well around her knee and ankle joint without catching or snagging. I admire how Tonner thinks out all the small details such as dressing their creations in something like a pair of stockings that won’t snag or become entangled in joints. Very cool stuff.

The figures hands and feet are detailed just as well as any of their other woman. The small and petite hands and feet have their nails painted which I find a nice little touch.

Moving on to her face and hair you find more of those amazingly fine details that this company always lovingly adds to their creations. They have given her these really nice, sky blue eyes that are a pleasure to admire. Dear god, don’t tell my wife but I think I’m in love!

The hand painted details on her face is as flawless and as perfect as I have ever seen. And her hair is just as perfect. The blonde hair flows alongside of her head and curls near the bottom.

The articulation on Supergirl may not be much, but with something like this you don’t need a lot. I was able to get her in a couple of iconic poses with no trouble at all.

As for her accessories, pulling her boots on weren’t much of an issue. You simply unzip the boots, slide her feet all the way in and carefully zip them back up! And of course, her display stand is very simple to set up. The arm plugs into the base. Easy, isn’t it?

Overall, this take on the original Supergirl is without a doubt one of my favorite pieces from Tonner’s DC Stars collection. If you are interested in picking one up for yourself you can find one at TONNER DIRECT for the retail price of $124.99! She’s limited to ONLY 3,000 pieces so act fast because who knows how many are left!

We won't have a Tonner Tuesday review next week due to our on-going live coverage of SDCC08. So, in Two Weeks we will be taking a look at a character who has trained his body and mind as a weapon to fight the evil in the darkest of Knight…
