As we head into the home stretch of Tonner Tuesdays - our weekly review of Tonner's amazing DC Character Figures - bring you the man with the power to speak with underwater creatures. He's the Water Wizard, Sea Sleuth, The King of the Ocean himself... Aquaman.

Aquaman is perhaps one of the easiest characters that we have ever had to review here in conjunction Tonner Tuesdays and believe me, that isn’t a bad thing. Opening the box we find one bag of accessories consisting of his gloves and of course our requisite display stand. But the Character Figure that is neatly tied into the box is where we want to begin!

Pulling him from the box, and carefully yanking the shipping materials from his head and hands we stare directly into the expertly sculpted face of Arthur Curry, better known to the world as Aquaman!

Dressed in his classic orange and green outfit, Arthur looks like he jumped directly from the silver age of comics! His shirt appears to be made from fish scales, and thanks to the material used here actually does shine dramatically in the light.
His black trunks are adorned by a yellow belt with a large ‘A’ in the middle, which appears at first very simple in execution but works well in bringing out the classically inspired look that Tonner was aiming for with this release.

Arthur’s green tights are a change of pace for these characters, as this is the first one we have reviewed that has no shoes or boots. His tights extend all the way down and envelop his feet. The best part of the tights is the small fish-like fins on the back of each leg. Not only do they help him maneuver through the depths of the ocean, they make a snazzy fashion statement as well!

Moving on to his accessories or more specifically his gloves which are made much like some of the other characters we have reviewed here in the past several weeks. Made from rubber, this type of glove creates a much better visual on the character than cloth gloves, which many times look a lot like mittens.
Pulling the gloves over his hands proved a bit difficult. I spent a whopping 10 minutes pulling them onto his hands. I didn’t have nearly this much trouble getting them on Batman or Batgirl. But after a bit of fighting the good fight I finally managed to pull them down onto his hands.

Aquaman is a great addition to any Tonner collection and will run you $159.99 from Tonner Direct. Now, they are limited to 1000 pieces so if you want one you had better act fast.
