Jonathan Kent, the adoptive father of Clark Kent, a.k.a. Superman, suffered a heart attack in the final pages of this month's issue of Action Comics. In the story, Superman is busy elsewhere and is unable to hear Martha Kent's cries for help as Jonathan crumbles to the ground clutching his chest. The final page shows Superman and his adoptive mother cradling Jonathan's body as tears roll down their faces.
There has been talk in the comic book world for some time that Jonathan Kent would pass away soon. Hints to his demise were in Justice League of America 0 published in 2006, and rumors persisted that the comic book storyline would mirror his passing in the Superman movies and Smallville television show. Joins us tomorrow, here at SuperheroTimes.com, for the full review of Action Comics 870.
