This year at the 2008 Scream Awards, Spike TV's proprietary awards show with the winners voted on by fans over the internet, Warner Bros. The Dark Knight destroyed the competition.

Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight made a near clean sweep taking home “Best Comic Book Movie,” “Best Director,” “Best Screenplay,” “Best FX,” “Best Sequel,” “Best Villain” (the Joker), “Best Superhero” (Christian Bale as Batman), “Best Actor” (Heath Ledger), Best Overall (“The Ultimate Scream”), “Best Supporting Performance” (Gary Oldman), “Holy S***! Scene of the Year” (Big Rig Flips), and “Best Line” (the Joker’s twisted take on Nietzsche, “Whatever doesn’t kill you, makes you stranger.”).
