Empire Magazine has offered up the first picture of Friday Night Lights star Taylor Kitsch as Gambit in Director Gavin Hood’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

Fans who attended SDCC this summer got a look at Gambit in action thanks to the exclusive footage shown to the attending crowd.

Opening May 1st, the action-thriller stars Hugh Jackman, Liev Schreiber, Ryan Reynolds, Taylor Kitsch, Will.i.am, Danny Huston, Dominic Monaghan, Daniel Henney and Lynn Collins.
