Thanks to a successful live-action film, major changes in the monthly comic (including the introduction of the Red Hulk!), and a full line of Marvel Legend action figures, the popularity of everyone's favorite Green Goliath has arguably never been more popular. And while it's true there have been numerous action figure versions of this radioactive monstrosity made by multiple companies, few rival the new Diamond Select Toys Marvel Select Incredible Hulk.
Available now from BigBadToyStore.com, this is the perfect new addition to any Hulk collection or the perfect version to add to any super hero fan's display...

PACKAGING: The massive 10 inch figure comes packaged in the same style carded clamshell-style Marvel Select packaging, an attractive comic images of the character on the bookend and character information on the back. One of the largest Marvel Select figures ever made, Hulk hardly fits inside the over-sized package, a slight concern for those looking for minty mint packages.

SCULPT: Diamond's sculptors did an amazing job on this truly mammoth figure. No doubt an impressive undertaking, this version features much more detail than the previously mentioned Hasbro Marvel Legends figures, including striated muscles and veins over the shoulders, back, midsection, arms, and legs. Heck, as one of the most powerful characters in the Marvel U, it only makes sense the Diamond would capture this warrior’s ripped look. Something worth mentioning; both the Diamond Select Red Hulk and Green Hulk feature the same body, but this green version features a unique head sculpt.
PAINT: The paint application on the Marvel Select Green Hulk is well done and features only a few minor bleeds or flaws. The most impressive aspects include the dark green dry-brushing over the lighter green body. This not only gives the figure’s body depth, but draws particular attention to the exposed muscles, veins and savage nature of this character’s design.
The only major complaint is the paint around the ball-jointed shoulders as posing them in particular places can cause the paint and plastic around these spots to peel back and/or off. A minor complaint, but a design flaw which could have been avoided.
ARTICULATION: The DST Marvel Select line focuses more on sculpting versus articulation, and thus this figure features only 14 joints which limits the poses possible. In all, the figure includes ball-socket shoulders, ball-socket elbows, swivel wrists, a ball-socket head/neck, ball-socket knees, ball-Socket hips, a swivel waist, and swivel ankles.
While most fans will be able to pose the Hulk in a desired stance, the angle of movement of most of the ball-joints are limited to what the sculpt surrounding them allows, making it more difficult than necessary.

COST & OVERALL IMPRESION: Even if this figure features less poseability than some previous versions of the Hulk, this is by far one of the most detailed and impressive versions of the character to take action figure form. Towering above previous versions at an impressive 10" tall, this massive monster deserves to be in any Hulk, Marvel U or superhero fan's collection.
Priced at an affordable $17.99, but unfortunately sold out, both the Green Hulk and Red Hulk are available in a set for $39.99 at BigBadToyStore.com.
