Watchmen opened over the weekend to tremendous returns, but seemingly underwhelmed according to some industry insiders.

The film made 55.7 million dollars here in the states during opening weekend, and pulled 27.5 million overseas.

And even though these numbers are amazing for an R-Rated film, it seemingly has done poorly so far since industry insiders predicted it would do nearly double that amount.

To be honest, it has become the third largest R-Rated release of all time, which is nothing to laugh about.

But the argument here is if the massive amount of fanboys can continue to propel the film to the returns that will make the film a blockbuster by Dark Knight standards.

Obviously, If teenage girls can do it to every film they love...why can't fanboys?
